It was the sort of strike that the forward made a habit of producing during his time in North London, and there is no doubt that we will see a lot more of that over the coming months and years in Los Angeles.
While Son’s ball-striking ability with both feet was among the best in the world, he was never seen as a dead-ball specialist at Tottenham.
The South Korean was rarely ever on free-kick duty in North London, and only one of his 173 goals for Spurs came via a free-kick.
However, the forward clearly shows a great side-foot technique here to get the ball up and down. Perhaps successive Spurs managers missed a trick by not trusting the 33-year-old with direct free-kicks.
