In fact, it is revealed that the Red Devils held talks over the 25-year-old with the La Liga club on summer transfer deadline day and have continued keeping an eye on him.
Ruben Amorim has ‘given the green light’ for the Manchester club to sign Gallagher, who is viewed at the club as a better fit for the Portuguese coach’s system than Kobbie Mainoo.
