Thomas Frank has now opened up on Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of winning more silverware this season, as he gears up for his Carabao Cup encounter with Newcastle United.

Thomas Frank has brought a genuine feel-good factor back to Tottenham Hotspur after his side secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.

That victory means that the Dane has suffered just two defeats in 14 matches across all competitions since taking charge, and Spurs would be looking to build on that.

Thomas Frank has now opened up on whether Tottenham are targeting silverware this season, a question that naturally arises given their decent start and the return of the Carabao Cup.

Speaking to the club’s official channels, the Dane revealed his mindset ahead of the clash and the importance of maintaining a winning mentality.

He said: “We are in this game because we love it. At Spurs, we do everything we can to win. We are trying to win every tournament we are playing in. Playing against a strong team, the holders, a difficult place to play, but we will do everything to compete, win and progress.”

Frank determined to keep Spurs momentum after recent success

Tottenham are no strangers to lifting silverware, having ended their 17-year wait for a major trophy last season when they won the Europa League.

The Lilywhites also came close to adding another trophy last term after reaching the Carabao Cup semi-finals, only for Liverpool to halt their progress at that stage.

When asked about the club’s desire for more silverware, the Tottenham boss underlined his ambition and the players’ hunger to build on their recent achievements.

“To get to win a trophy, that is very difficult, to sustain it is even harder, but that is the aim. The players here had a fantastic experience last year and are very eager to win again. We are going for it tomorrow,” he said.
