Ten Micky van de Ven stats that show how dominant he was for Tottenham vs Everton
Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven continues to impress under Thomas Frank, with his latest performance against Everton further proving just how crucial he has become for Spurs this season.
Micky van de Ven managed zero goals throughout the whole of last season, yet this term he is already halfway to double figures with five goals to his name.
A brace against Everton in Tottenham’s last Premier League outing ensured that Frank’s captain on the day guided Spurs to only their second win in their last five matches.
It was also a crucial victory for Tottenham, who took advantage of the slip-ups from Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool, all of whom lost in their respective matchday nine encounters.
Micky van de Ven shines in dominant display for Tottenham against Everton
It was indeed a complete display from Micky van de Ven, who was absolutely dominant in both boxes for Thomas Frank’s side, and the statistics back that up.
Van de Ven was named man of the match against Everton and received the highest rating on FotMob for his performance, with a 9.1/10.
The Dutchman not only bagged a brace but was also solid defensively in his own box, leading from the back with seven clearances, five of which were headed, while also making three interceptions and two recoveries.
With Cristian Romero out, Frank relied on van de Ven to take on a more progressive role from defence, and the centre-back responded with authority.
Against David Moyes’ men, van de Ven completed 61 of his 68 passes with 90 per cent accuracy, the most in the match, while also playing six passes into the final third.

Thomas Frank keeping Micky van de Ven fit is key for Spurs
Thomas Frank and his medical team have managed to keep van de Ven fit so far this season despite the setbacks Spurs are enduring at the back, and that is a huge boost.
Romero remains sidelined, although Frank revealed that he does not expect the Argentine to be out for too long.
Radu Dragusin, Ben Davies, Kota Takai and Destiny Udogie are also unavailable, and their return to full fitness would be ideal for Spurs, who would then be able to manage van de Ven’s minutes better so he does not pick up needless injuries, given his importance to Tottenham.
