Tottenham show interest in Cameroon forward with 9 goals and assists this season
Tottenham Hotspur have turned their attention to a La Liga starlet, whose stock has risen massively since his summer transfer.
Spurs are prioritising adding firepower to their attack in January, and one can certainly understand why, given the Lilywhites’ struggles in prising open defences under Thomas Frank.
It has been reported that Tottenham are ready to back Frank with big funds this month in an effort to push themselves up the Premier League table.
The Lilywhites have now seemingly turned their attention to a 22-year-old who is impressing in the Spanish top flight.
Tottenham have made checks on a Levante forward Karl Etta Eyong
It was first reported back in October that Spurs are fans of Levante forward Karl Etta Eyong, who has been impressing since his summer move from Villarreal.
The Daily Mail have now confirmed that the Cameroon international is one of the names on the North London club’s wishlist.
The report says that Spurs have made checks on the availability of Eyong, who has scored six goals and provided three assists in 15 league outings this term.
Spurs face one complication in Eyong pursuit
It was revealed by journalist Pete O’Rourke a couple of months ago that Tottenham may face competition from Man United and Chelsea for Eyong.
O’Rourke also explained that Villarreal have a buy-back option on the young forward, which complicates the deal for the Premier League trio.
The journalist further added that Levante would be reluctant to lose their starlet midway through the season.
