Fans believe that Ivelisse is referring to the same reasons she was let go from WWE years ago: reporting on alleged mistreatment.
AEW has not addressed the tweet, and according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: “there was an issue with her and ‘a few’ coaches and she’s not being booked right now”.
Fightful Select reported: “Ivelisse has not been present at AEW tapings as of late.
Ivelisse tweeted confirming her release from All Elite Wrestling because of mistreatment[/caption]Some talent within the company believe she will not return to AEW following ‘well-known disagreements with agents backstage’.”
On April 14 she confirmed with the news source: “I spoke up about mistreatment from a Coach, even to other women too, there were witnesses and I was the one suspended and left in limbo and just now let go, and nothing has been done at all the entire time about (Thunder Rosa) slandering my name the entire time in AEW and doing everything to sabotage my position there, I kept quiet, (Thunder Rosa) also has a history of getting involved with officials in order to get ahead which there was a lawsuit and everything in (Lucha Underground).”
Ivelisse was said to have been in “limbo” for quite a while, but the official release came today.
Who is Ivelisse and how did she get into wrestling?
Ivelisse was born Ivelisse Milagro Velez on September 21, 1987 in Puerto Rico.
She most known for her time in Lucha Underground, and Shine Wrestling.
Starting wrestling training at fifteen, she would go on to appear in local promotions like World Wrestling Council and soon the US.
Ivelisse has wrestled in WWE NXT, Lucha Underground, Shine, and TNA[/caption]She was given blessings from legendary Carlos Colon Sr. and Savio Vega.
In Chicago she would continue her training with Steve “Boz” Bozniak of Chicago Style Wrestling.
In 2011, she was one of the fourteen contestants for the fifth season of WWE competition show Tough Enough, but was eliminated due to a leg injury.
After being eliminated the 5-foot-4 star was offered a contract, and reported to developmental and to the first iteration of NXT.
In August 2012, Ivelisse was released from her contract, and on a podcast with Vince Russo in 2015 she alluded to reporting on former NXT coach Bill Demott’s treatment as a reason for her release.
She was signed to All Elite Wrestling for less than a year before being released[/caption]She would move on to the independent circuit, including in promotions like Family Wrestling Entertainment (FWE), Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, TNA, Shine, and Lucha Underground.
Along with Thunder Rosa and Santos Escobar, she became part of a class action lawsuit against Lucha Underground.
How long was Ivelisse in All Elite Wrestling (AEW)?
In August 2019, Ivelisse participated in the AEW Women’s Casino Battle Royal at the All Out event.
In October 2020 she announced that she had signed a contract with the company.
She teamed with Diamante and would go on to win the inaugural AEW Deadly Draw tag team tournament.
The Puerto Rican star was last seen on AEW programming on the March 2 edition of AEW Dark, teaming with Diamante in a losing effort against Red Velvet and KiLynn King.
