“I was scared I was going to fall down the stairs,” Max told CBS Chicago.
Max said he is usually the one that takes in packages for his family but this one was just too heavy.
“I couldn’t get it – well, the package man got it.” he said.
Angel, who has worked for the delivery company for a year, told CBS Chicago that he reacted as fast as he possibly could.
“As soon as I saw the package tilt, I just started running back to it,” he said.
Angel added: “I pictured my boys in his situation. Obviously, you go into kind of into full parent mode or full dad mode to make sure the kid is all right.”
Fortunately, Max was unharmed, telling CNN he only suffered an “ouchie”.
Traci Pratt, Max’s mom, said that after Angel had helped her son he brought the package inside.

She told CNN: “I went to get the package and he was like, ‘No, no, no. I’m taking it inside for you. Where do you want me to put it?’ He was so nice.”
In a video chat between Traci and Angel, set up by CBS Chicago, she told him: “You are our angel, the way you flew in and helped him.”
Max has given Angel the nickname of “The Package Man” while Traci said she hoped UPS would give him a bonus and make him employee of the month.
