The multitude of conspiracy theories was half the fun in the BBC hit crime drama.
Speaking on the Obsessed with… Line of Duty podcast, it was revealed there was a clue that no one remembered.
The clue was that Buckle let the caddy talk to Tummy Hunter in the back of a van alone- showing he was dodgy.

Still, eagle-eyed viewers who’d previously spotted the set of golf clubs in Buckells’s office and made the “caddy” connection.
Jed also rubbished speculation that AC-12 member Chloe Bishop could be the daughter of bent copper Tony Gates from series one.
“If I hear the theory once more that Chloe is Lennie James’ Tony Gates’ daughter, I’m going to have a hissy fit,” Parkinson said. “I’ve thrown enough Reg 15’s out on Twitter to last me a lifetime.

However, some fans weren’t only up in arms about an underwhelming series finale – they’re fighting the corner of DC Chloe Bishop, too.
Initially, some viewers believed it was double agent Chloe who would be revealed as H.
But this quickly switched to sympathy for the character after she played a key role in solving the mystery.

Erron Gordon, series director of GMB, took to Twitter to write: “To summarise; Chloe managed to crack the whole thing without even breaking a sweat.”
Another BBC viewer agreed and put: “Chloe deserves a promotion. She solved the whole thing.”
A third continued: “Chloe watching on as the team go off to the pub to celebrate when it was all her work that did it. Mate.”
One then surmised: “I think we can all agree that Chloe is the only one doing any actual police work in AC-12.”
