CORONATION Street viewers are in tears after Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin were violently attacked by Corey Brent’s gang.
The couple – who are played by actors Mollie Gallagher and Harry Visinoni in the ITV soap – were on cloud nine after a perfect day and decided to walk back home the long way.
However on their way home they came across Corey’s gang as they drank with Kelly Neelan and Summer Spellman.
Nina insisted on staying with the girls to make sure they were OK – but it proved to be a deadly mistake.
As Summer left to go home, Nina tried to help Kelly but she threw it back in her face.
Despite her good intentions, the daughter of a killer loan shark turned on her – and slapped Nina.
A shaken Nina and Seb left but the gang followed them with Corey demanding the gang follow and continue the attack.
“I think we’ve lost them,” Seb said but as he spoke the gang appeared behind them.
Nina told him to act normal but he pulled his phone out to return his mum’s call and was leaving her a voicemail.
But the gang saw it and thought he was calling the police and began attacking them both.
Nina managed to flee but Seb was being brutally kicked on the floor.
Meanwhile Corey and Kelly went home and the thug set about covering up what he’d done.
“Shut up and listen,” he told her on the phone.
“Nobody knows anything – that weirdo and her boyfriend will be fine so calm it.
“Act normal and don’t breathe a word. Keep it between us. Just us who was there and no-one else. Just to be on the safe side put your clothes in the wash and give your trainers a deep clean.
“And this is important – don’t call me again. Don’t text or message, nothing. I’ll catch up with you tomorrow or some time out and about.
“Not via phone you understand. Just do as I say and everything will be right.”
It later emerged Seb had managed to call for help before losing consciousness and they were rushed to hospital.
Roy sat by Nina’s bedside while Abi stayed with her son.
And at the end of the episode the life support machines began beeping with Seb and the nurses rushed in while Abi sobbed.
The emotional episode left fans weeping at home.
One wrote: “Poor Nina and Seb! Hate attacks are horrible and have long term emotional/physical affects on victims.”
A second said: “I’m not ready for the next episode of @itvcorrie gonna be heart-breaking for Abi and Roy.”
Another added: “I feel sick. Why can’t people be different without having to face disgraceful abuse and being viciously attacked.

“There’s room for it and never any excuses for brutality.
“Nina is a beautiful character and it’s vile to watch. Thugs should be named and shamed #Corrie.”
Will Nina and Seb get the justice they deserve?
Coronation Street continues Friday at 7:30pm on ITV.
