Supermarkets including Sainsbury’s and Asda launch mega sales with up to 50% off items from clothes to vacuum cleaners
SUPERMARKETS including Tesco and Asda have slashed up to 50% off items from clothes to electronics in mega summer sales.
The Sun has spotted summer essentials such as dresses and polo shirts flogged for as little as £4.50, as well as pricey items such as vacuum cleaners going for less.
But before you splash out make sure you compare prices online.
You might find you can get the same – or similar – items for less elsewhere.
Asda, Sainsbury’s and Aldi haven’t confirmed if the sales are online only or when they will end – but we’ve asked for more information.
Make sure you factor in the price of delivery into your haul.

The sunny weather may not be around, but these cheerful kids tops could help to brighten the day.
Four tops come in the set, and colours include yellow, green, red and blue.
Half price has been slashed off the T-shirts, so you could get the set for as little as £4.50 – depending on what size you buy.
If you’re not keen on the colours, then you can buy this set of four tops from Matalan from £9.
Grey Ribbed Midi Dress

Up to 50% off has been knocked off womenswear too, including this grey mid-length dress.
You can bag it for £7.50 and keep cool this summer.
It comes with a slit up the leg and is made out of ribbed material – but if you’re not a fan of this detail, H&M is selling a similar dress for £13.
Bright Planter With Stand
- Was: £20. Now: £16. Save: £4 (20%) – buy now
While it stays wet and windy outside, you can bring summer inside and pop a plant in this colourful holder.
You can bag it for £16 and put £4 back into your pocket, as it was £20.
However, we spotted this similar looking gold plant holder for even less at £11 – down from £17 – at TK Maxx.
De’Longhi Argento Flora Kettle Peppermint Green
Was: £55. Now: £45. Save: £10 (18%) – buy now
Looking for a kettle? This green one is going for £45 – a tenner has been knocked of it’s price tag.
Sainsbury’s says it’s “easy” to clean, as there’s a removable and washable anti-scale filter.
However, we spotted this similar-looking kettle in Next is going for less at £38.
Asda
Asda has slashed up to 50% off a range of items, with over £100 off pricey products like vacuum cleaners.

Shark Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
- Was: £349.96. Now: £249. Save: £100.96 (29%) – buy now
There are a number of pricey gadgets in Asda’s sale that have at least £100 knocked off it’s original price tag.
This Shark vacuum cleaner is going for £249 – down from £249.
Delivery will cost you from £2.94 – but it’s free if you use the supermarket’s click and collect service.
However, the same vacuum cleaner is going for the same price at Currys PC World if you want to buy it from there instead.
Vertical Stripe Zip Neck Polo Top
- Was: £12.50. Now: £7. Save: 5.50 (44%) – buy now
You can scoop up menswear in Asda’s clothes section, George, for up to half price off.
This polo top is going for £7 – over a fiver less than it’s original price tag of £12.50.
It has a zip at the front and comes in a stripey design.
We couldn’t spot tops like this much cheaper elsewhere – but if you want a plainer design, this one is going for just over £11 at New Look.
Scoville Neverstick 20cm Wok
- Was: £14. Now: £9. Save: £5 (36%) – buy now
If your pans have seen better days, this wok could make for a great replacement.
Asda has knocked a fiver off its price tag – so you can grab it for £9 instead of £14.
It’s non-stick, so it should be easier to clean.
We couldn’t find the same wok going for less elsewhere – but this one from Argos is £3 cheaper at £6.
Navy Pedal Bin 30L
- Was: £20. Now: £15. Save: £5 (25%) – buy now
Kitchen bins can be a bit on the expensive side – but you could get a new one for less at Asda.
A fiver has been knocked off the price of this navy blue bin, making it £15 instead of £20.
It will hold 30 litres of rubbish – which means you could be making less trips to the wheelie bin.
We couldn’t find a similar looking bin for less anywhere else – but Aldi is selling a bigger bin which will hold 40litres of waste for £55 if you want to splash out.
Aldi
Aldi has knocked off nearly 50% off the price of a range of items including furniture, baby items and kitchen bits.

Contemporary Wooden Console Table
- Was: £79.99. Now: £44.99. Save: £35 (44%) – buy now
We reckon this wooden console table from Aldi could easily double up as a bedside cabinet or vanity table.
It comes with three drawers and comes in a pale grey colour.
You can get it for £35 less at just under £45 in the sale.
It looks like it really is a good deal as we couldn’t spot a similar table going for less at any other shop – but this one from Wayfair is £54 if you like the more traditional look.
Ickle Bubba Silver Stomp V2 3in1
- Was: £199.99. Now: £169.99. Save: £30 (15%) – buy now
This stroller doubles up as a carrycot and a car seat, which could make it a good buy if you’re on a budget and looking to buy as little as possible.
It’s on sale, down form just under £200 to around £170.
It has a rain cover too so you can protect your little one in soggy weather.
However, we found a pushchair being flogged on Amazon for a tenner less at £159.99.
Kirkton House Fondue Set
Was: £7.99. Now: £5.99. Save: £2 (25%) – buy now
Now the majority of Covid restrictions have lifted, dinner parties are back on the cards – and you could wow guests with this fondue set.
You also get two fondue forks and a tea light to get yourself started.
It’s on sale at just under £6 – and we couldn’t find a set going for cheaper than this.
However, this one on Amazon is going for £10.99 if you’re willing to pay a little extra.
Super Wings Rescue Riders Playset
- Was: £23.99. Now: £14.99. Save: £9 (38%) – buy now
The summer holidays are coming up, but you can keep your little ones entertained through any miserable weather with this toy fire engine.
It comes with a detachable ladder, water hose and three traffic cones.
You can bag it for just under £15 – but for £2 less, this fire engine is going for £13 at Hamleys – and you can get another toy for free.
