Staff and pupils at Milton Keynes College battled to save the 16-year-old’s life after he was violently attacked at lunchtime on Friday.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Andy Shearwood said cops are carrying out a ‘thorough investigation’[/caption] Cops arrested an 18-year-old on suspicion of murder[/caption]A gang of “12 to 15” youths dressed in black chased the victim and stabbed him in the back on a patch of grass in Milton Keynes, Bucks.
Detectives have arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of murder, and have been granted an extension to continue quizzing the teenager.
One pupil at the college claims that she witnessed the brutal attack, with the teen being rushed to hospital where he later died.
Her mum told The Times: “She saw it happen and she was the one giving him CPR.
“I believe they saw a gang of youths dressed all in black approaching, and one of them stabbed another boy.
“They thought it was nothing serious but obviously he collapsed. My daughter left her class and ran out and tried to help him.”

Another student, who had also tried to help the victim and had returned to the college collect his car, said: “It was horrific. That poor boy bled to death from his wounds.
“He was in a terrible way. We tried our best to save him but we couldn’t resuscitate him.
“There were a few of us trying to help him, I’m so sorry we couldn’t. I didn’t know him.”
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “These students are now receiving specialist support from the college and we would like to publicly commend the courage and selflessness that they have demonstrated in these tragic circumstances.
“Healthcare students and a member of staff from the college who were in a class overlooking the redway made their way outside and provided immediate first aid, until emergency services arrived.
“A Home Office post-mortem examination took place today and the cause of death has been ascertained as a stab wound to the back of the chest.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place, and the victim’s family continue to be supported by specially trained officers at this time.
“We are absolutely committed in our determination to ascertain the circumstances that led to this tragic incident, and we are continuing to conduct additional patrols across the town.
“We do not believe there is any threat to the wider community, but if anybody has any concerns, please do not hesitate to raise these with any of our officers and staff that are in the area.”
‘TERRIBLE INCIDENT’
It is understood he was a sixth form student at a school four miles away, and did not attend Milton Keynes College.
Emergency services were called to the college shortly after 1.30pm on Friday following reports of a stabbing.
Milton Keynes College said in a statement: “Everyone at Milton Keynes College is devastated to learn that the terrible incident which occurred on the Chaffron Way redway has resulted in a fatality.
“We know at this stage that colleagues and students both witnessed the incident and helped to provide emergency first aid, they are being supported by our counselling teams.
“Whilst this incident did not happen on our campus we do know that the fact it was witnessed by students will heighten anxiety and feelings of being unsafe.
“We will therefore be increasing leadership presence and security at our Chaffron Way campus next week to help to provide reassurance.”
