My boyfriend built me a walk-in-wardrobe – I love it but trolls called him cheap because he didn’t splash £6k on it
A WOMAN revealed that her boyfriend built her a walk-in-wardrobe, but she was viciously trolled by people who said she was ‘cheap’ for not spending £6,000 on one instead.
Home design and lifestyle influencer Megan was trolled because she decided not to spend £6,000 on getting a company to build her a bespoke walk-in wardrobe.
Megan says she loves her hand-built wardrobe[/caption] But trolls have still accused her and her boyfriend of being ‘cheap’[/caption]Instead, Megan’s boyfriend built the wardrobe for her, using some IKEA units and some basic building supplies.
The total cost of hand-built wardrobe was around £1,000.
She said: “The most expensive part of building the wardrobe was the IKEA units and they cost about £600. The rest of the materials came to about £400.”
Megan loves the wardrobe, and it cost just a tenth of the alternative, but trolls were fuming that the young couple had decided to go for a more affordable option.
One wrote: “You’re just cheap. You can’t afford 6K to get something bespoke built so you bought complete s***… It’s not your fault but don’t say you’re glad”, wrote one commenter.
Megan hit back at the critical viewer, saying: “Comments like this really baffle me.

“Just because we decided not to spend £6,000 on a wardrobe doesn’t mean we couldn’t have. We decided to go for a cheaper option because this really isn’t a necessity.
“Yes, it’s always been a dream of mine to have a walk-in wardrobe, but it’s not something that we need.
“And we definitely weren’t planning on spending a lot of money on it because, let’s face it, it’s there to store clothes.”
Megan’s response racked up over 250,000 likes and many commenters supported Megan’s attitude.
“6k on a wardrobe or 6k on holidays and memories… hard decision”, joked one viewer.
Another said: “God, people are really hating on a wardrobe??”
“Always someone quick to throw in the ‘cheap’ comment. Easy to spend other people’s money though isn’t it?” added a third.
