Every year picnics and other outdoor activities are ruined by wasps.
Dealing with wasps in the summer can be especially annoying[/caption]But according to this expert, there’s one simple way to make sure wasps leave you alone – and it involves the colour of your clothes.
Adam Juson, founder and director of Merlin Environmental, spoke to Express.co.uk and revealed what we should all be doing to keep wasps at bay this summer.
Ditching bright colour clothes is one of the easier ways to avoid wasp stings, according to Adam.
Opting for paler shades is the way to go.

Adam said: “These colours are less attractive to wasps.
“If a wasp does land on you, don’t panic or flap around, this will make a wasp feel threatened.
“If it happens to get inside your clothes, this is even more likely as it could feel trapped.
“Stay as still as possible until it finds its own way out.”

There are other ways to avoid pesky wasps, like not leaving sugary foods outside.
Of course, if you’re having a picnic, that’s easier said than done.
Just make sure that your food stays covered while you’re outside to help keep the wasps at bay.
Adam said: “Wasps can be a nuisance in summer but there are various, simple steps you can take to deter wasps away from your home and avoid getting stung.
“Avoid taking sweet treats such as fruit and sugary drinks outside, but if you do make sure you keep them covered.”
