I was jealous of my sister-in-law for looking prettier than me at my wedding – now I want to wear white to hers
THERE are some unspoken rules when it comes to what you wear to a wedding.
A recently married woman has shared how she plans to get even with her sister-in-law, whom she said looked prettier than her on her big day.
A Reddit user shared her plan for revenge after her sister-in-law upstaged her on her wedding day.
The original poster explained how her husband’s step-sister Tiffany received a lot of attention on their big day.
“The ceremony went fine, but afterward, while my in-laws were congratulating me, my father-in-law commented that I looked beautiful, and in the next breath mentioned Tiffany did, too,” she explained.
The recent bride detailed how stunning her sister-in-law looked at the wedding.

“Her dress was beautiful and fitted her perfectly, her hair and make-up looked like they’d been done professionally, and she was wearing a pair of obviously designer shoes,” she said.
The Reddit user added: “Her outfit was totally appropriate for the event, but I was still weirdly upset by how she looked and immediately felt self-conscious next to her.”
The bride detailed how Tiffany received a lot of attention at the reception.
“Every single male guest at the wedding asked about Tiffany, who she was, how I know her, if she was single, etc.,” she said.

The poster continued: “By the speeches, I was fed up and almost in tears, and even the best man mentioned her in his speech off the cuff.”
Shortly after the couple returned from their honeymoon, Tiffany announced her engagement.
“Before I could stop myself, I jokingly said that I was pretty sure I’d already been to her wedding, I was the one in the white dress,” the Reddit user explained.
She continued: “I asked if I could wear white to her wedding then and she shrugged and said ‘if you think it’ll help.'”
While Tiffany laughed off the remarks, the original poster’s husband accused her of embarrassing him and asked that she apologize to her sister-in-law.
Reddit users took to the comment section to share their thoughts on the situation.
“What a classy, confident woman Tiff must be to react to such a petty, jealous attack with such a smooth shutdown and follow it up with an apology despite being wholly unnecessary,” said one reader.
Another user wrote: “While I can understand that you’re upset by everybody talking about Tiffany at your wedding, it doesn’t appear she did it on purpose. Her reaction to your criticism shows that.”
