Bake Off fans all say the same thing about Matt Lucas as show makes triumphant return

THE Great British Bake Off fans couldn’t get over Matt Lucas’ incredible weight loss as the show returned to TV tonight.

The 48-year-old host of the hit Channel 4 show wowed in a relaxed fit shirt as he got to know the latest hopeful bakers who will battle it out to win the show.

Matt slashed calories and started working out after being warned he was at risk of contracting diabetes.

Those watching at home rushed to comment on his look, with one writing: “Sorry quick side note Matt Lucas looks incredible #GBBO.”

Another commented: “Holy heck at the weight loss of @RealMattLucas – he looks really well.”

While someone else tweeted: “Wow how much weight has Matt Lucas lost!? #GBBO.”

Matt reunited on screen with  with Noel Fielding, 49, Prue Leith, 82, and Paul Hollywood, 56, tonight.

He previously said he had to “do something about his weight” after getting bigger during lockdown.

Last year he told Lorraine Kelly: “I lost some weight, I needed to take the edge off, because I put on a lot of weight in lockdown.

The host also added: “Shout out to the lady who stopped me at football today to ask me why I’ve lost weight and to inform me I look a lot older.

“For the first time in my life, I think I’ve just been thin-shamed.”
