Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen reveals secret to ‘keeping kids sweet’ at Ravenseat
THE Shepherdess reveals why she doesn’t go trick or treating with her nine kids in the remote Yorkshire Dales.
Amanda, 48, showed her followers a glimpse of her family celebrating Halloween in her latest Instagram post.
The mum-of-nine shared a variety of adorable snaps of the families Halloween traditions.
These included carving pumpkins and enjoying home-made squash soup and roasted honey cobnuts.
She wrote: “No trick or treating but some pumpkin lanterns & roasted honey cobnuts, keeping them sweet.”
The snaps had a dark and spooky setting with a hot fire and lit up pumpkins.
They also showed her kids eating mini pumpkins.

Earlier this month, Amanda’s book ‘Celebrating the Seasons’ got into the bestseller’s chart.
It details the harsh, but rewarding, realities of living ‘in tune’ with the seasons on one of the highest and most remote hill farms in England.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: “Reuben & his mate Tom went to get a @thetimes newspaper as they knew my book was in the bestseller chart this week. Number 3….unbelievable.
“It’s all you folks, followers & friends that made this happen. Know that we appreciate each & everyone of you. Thank you. #Bestseller”.
