Becky and Jamie Vardy’s children’s book slammed as ‘a waste of money’ by furious parents
REBEKAH and Jamie Vardy’s new kids’ book has been slammed as a “waste of money” by disappointed parents.
The 40-year-old WAG and her footy star husband, 35, released the story – Cedric the Little Sloth with a Big Dream – earlier this year.
It follows the sloth as he joins a football team and ends up getting teased by the other animals.
But the tale, which costs £6.99, has failed to impress some, who have made their feelings very clear in reviews.
One furious parent wrote: “Do not waste money or your children’s time on this.”
A second harshly added: “I’m using it to kindle the fire rather than let my kids near such drivel.”

And a third raged: “Don’t waste your money on this book, looks and feels cheap. Shouldn’t have been surprised with the author.”
Others were full of praise though, as one parent commented: “A well written, beautifully illustrated story with the wholesome message to ‘always be you’. A truly gorgeous addition to our bedtime routine.”
“Love this book, illustrations are beautifully colourful with delightful characters. I Also like the football analogy for a story line and the lovely conclusion,” said another.
A spokesperson for the couple told the Daily Star that the positive reviews “far outweigh the few negative ones”.
They added that it got “a 63% 5 Star rating whilst 25% gave it a 1 rating” and “the majority of readers loved this book and the overall rating is 3.9 out of 5”.

The Sun first told last year how the couple would be penning a whole series of books.
A source said at the time: “Jamie and Rebekah have been working on it for quite some time now and with six kids between them aged 2-16 they have years of experience when it comes to bedtime stories!
“They know exactly what kids love to read about and how to get them excited about reading.”
Rebekah is mum to daughter Megan, 16, and son Taylor, 11, from previous relationships, and shares Sofia, six, Finlay, four, and Olivia, with Jamie. He also has daughter Ella, five, from another relationship.
