Bargain hunter left baffled by what their latest buy is actually used for – so can you figure it out?
THEY’RE big fans of collecting bargains wherever they go.
But one couple have been left baffled by one of their latest finds – and took to TikTok to see if anyone knew what it was for.
“Can anyone tell us what this is?” the pair, who own the Dydh Da gift shop in Padstow, Cornwall, said in the video.
“Answers in the comments… if you know what it is and what to do with it, because we’re confused.
“What is this? We can’t work it out,” they wrote over the clip, which showed the silver ornament.
It looked something like a paperclip, with a flower design on the front.
They were quickly inundated with suggestions as to what the piece could be for, with one writing: “I think it’s for a wine bottle.”
“Thanks, that was our first guess but tried that and it didn’t fit anywhere!” they replied.
“it’s Giant paperclip sculpture no practical purpose other than to display as art,” another wrote.
With the poster replying: “This may actually be right!”
“Does the flower looking part spin?” someone else asked.
As the woman replied: “Yes it will rotate but it’s on a screw so would fall off if turned repeatedly. What were you thinking?”
“No idea by the flower part reminds me of a necklace holder,” the person answered.
“Seems built too sturdy for just that.”
“it’s for taking your boots off,” someone else wrote.
With another joking: “It’s a thingymajig.”
“It is indeed – or an oojimawotsit,” the woman wrote back.
