The Apprentice’s Shannon Martin reveals baffling reason she quit BBC show after just two weeks
THE Apprentice’s Shannon Martin has revealed the baffling reason she quit the programme after two weeks.
Viewers were left stunned after Shannon made the decision to leave the BBC One programme during Thursday’s episode.
The bridal boutique owner had made her mind up before her team had won the latest challenge.
Now the TV star has opened up on the real reason she decided to walk away from Lord Alan Sugar‘s show.
“During the bao bun task, I was there in the kitchen thinking ‘Why am I here? What am I doing here making bao buns in a kitchen when I can’t cook as it is?’,” she said.
She continued by revealing she struggled to focus on the tasks because she was always thinking what was going on at home.
She said: “What’s happening with the business? Is everything okay? I knew in the back of my mind that of course everything would be okay, the team are amazing. But I’m a perfectionist.”
“I need to know what’s going on all the time and not being able to know how things were going on at home or what was happening at work was really hard for me.
“The unknown is definitely not something I’m good at. The more I thought about it, the more I thought, ‘Am I in here for the right reasons? Do I really want a business partner? Is this what I want? Do I want my life to change?’”
She concluded: “I knew that I could potentially win the show, and did I really want to win and have my life completely changed? No, I didn’t.”
Meanwhile, during the latest episode fans were left furious as they hit out at the show for ‘firing the wrong person’.
After the usual boardroom showdown, the girls group emerged victorious.
But it wasn’t good news for accountant Kevin D’Arcy, who became the second person to be fired from the series.
Fans were quick to share their thoughts on the outcome on Twitter, complaining that Kevin was set up after being made to work on the finances for their bao bun production – even though he didn’t want to.
One person wrote: “In a way, i feel sorry for kevin because he didn’t even want to do it and he made it clear from the jump.”
Another said: “I feel like Kevin was set up!!”
