Evel Knievel’s son Robbie dead aged 60: Stuntman passes away after battle with cancer
FAMED daredevil Robbie Knievel has died at age 60 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
The death-defying stuntman – the son of fellow risk-taker Evel Knievel – died on Friday morning while in hospice care, a family source revealed to TMZ.
Robbie performed over 350 death-defying jumps throughout his career[/caption]Born in rural Montana, Robbie – better known as Kaptain Robbie Knievel – began his surreal stunts by jumping his bike at the age of four.
Robbie’s first performance came as an eight-year-old during his father’s Madison Square Garden show.
He performed over 350 jumps throughout his career, setting world records for 20 of them.
His most unforgettable jump came when he leaped over the Caesars Palace fountains in Las Vegas in 1989.
Robbie’s father attempted the same jump but failed.
His career highlights include a 30-limousine jump, the Grand Canyon jump and the U.S.S. Intrepid jump.
The mad capper’s final performance came in 2011 when he jumped 150 feet above track-trailer trucks at the Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella, California.
