I’m a tattoo-addicted mum – my kids sobbed when they saw me covered up with makeup… they love my ink
A TATTOO-addicted mum has revealed that her kids sobbed when they saw her covered up with makeup because they love her ink.
Melissa Sloan, 46, says that her family “freaked out” after seeing her without tattoos for the first time, and that it even scared the dog.
She hid her body art by covering her face in foundation and ended up looking so different that two of her kids “burst” into tears.
Melissa, from Knighton, Wales, told the Daily Star: “It took me ages. I bought one [foundation] for £3 and thought I’d try it that way.
“I put it on for about half an hour and when I went downstairs the kids freaked out because they didn’t like it.
“And my partner looked twice he said ‘no, it don’t suit you. Get your tattoos back, it looks weird’.”
She added that she had wanted to “challenge” herself but her kids just wanted her back as she was.
However, she found that it was harder to take off the long-lasting makeup that she had bought.
Melissa explained: “To wash it off it took 24 hours, it’s still on there a little bit.
“I enjoyed myself doing it, it was different. I might do it again actually with different wigs and try and go out like it now and again.
“I’m going to buy some more and some different lipstick – I just like to experiment.”
It comes after Melissa was involved in a number on controversies over he inkings.
The mum-of-seven said she was banned from both her local pub and her kid’s nativity play at Christmas time and has also said that the tatts have stopped her from getting a job.
Even when nasty trolls call her ‘crayola’ or she suffers from skin infections that make her tattoos fall off, she is still determined.
Melissa has insisted that she is proud of how she looks and doesn’t plan on stopping, adding three new tattoos a week.
