Loose Women star in hospital as she suffers ‘surgery complications’
LOOSE Women star Sophie Morgan has revealed she is in hospital.
The TV star, 37, told fans she was getting treatment for “complications post minor op”.
Sophie, who is a disability advocate, went on to explain how it takes “a lot for disabled people to find the energy to fight when their bodies are a battleground as it is”.
She is currently fighting British Airways after claiming they broke her £8,000 wheelchair in transit last month.
Sophie suffered a spinal cord injury back in 2003 at the age of 18 when she was involved in a car accident in Scotland, leaving her partially paralysed.
She told her followers today: “Progress Update: Letter to PM from MP about to be circulated for signatures.
“Aviation experts consulting. Campaign launching next week. Global partnerships being established.”
She continued: “In the hospital atm. Complications post minor op.
“Sharing this to highlight that it takes a LOT for disabled ppl to find the energy to fight when their bodies are a battleground as is.”
Sophie was left furious following the damage to her wheelchair and the subsequent customer service she received.
Following her accident she has relied on her wheelchair for mobility.
Since then, she has risen to fame hosting Channel 4’s coverage of the Paralympic Games before joining Loose Women.
Just after receiving her A-level results, Sophie crashed a car carrying four friends while driving between parties in Elgin, Scotland.
Her friends received minor injuries but Sophie was trapped under the overturned car and ended up with a fractured back, nose and skull.
Sophie has put the accident down to her dangerous driving and the fact she’d passed her test six months before, commenting: “I wasn’t drunk, I was just driving like an idiot.”
