Stacey Solomon reduces mum to tears as she turns daughter’s beloved chair into a keepsake bear on Sort Your Life Out
STACEY Solomon reduced a mum to tears on Sort Your Life Out on Wednesday night, after turning her daughter’s beloved but broken chair into a keepsake teddy bear.
Parents-of-three Aimee and Stuart Daniels were the couple featured on the latest episode of the BBC home organisation show, as they struggled to live in a house full of clutter.
As in every episode of Stacey‘s much-loved show, she and her team visited the house as it was first of all, before transferring everything from the property to a giant warehouse.
In the warehouse, everything was laid out into room sections, with Aimee, Stuart and their three children then having to go through it and decide what to keep, what to donate, what to recycle and what to sell.
In one moving moment, Stacey addressed a broken baby chair – which she had pointed out earlier in the episode – and said to Aimee: “This is for a baby – you haven’t got a baby have you?”
“No, but that’s Mollie’s chair,” Aimee said.
“We bought that when Mollie was in hospital after her open heart surgery.
“When she was 10 weeks old she went into heart failure – probably one of the worst experiences ever.
“Her heart just didn’t want to work any more. It was life or death.
“If she didn’t have the surgery, she wasn’t going to make it.
“There was obviously the chance that even having the surgery she wasn’t going to make it but without it… you have to go for the better option.”
When Mollie started to improve after the surgery, Aimee was advised to get a chair which would allow her to sit up more, so she bought that one.
“Does it scare you to let it go?” Stacey asked.
With Aimee replying: “Yeah, a little bit
“It’s really hard because i want to get rid of it, I want to clear out but that has a lot of memories in it – the hospital and coming home, it’s hard.”
Breaking down, Aimee then said: “It’s just a chair”, as Stacey comforted her with a hug.
After some more chatting with Stacey, Aimee decided to get rid of the chair, and asked the presenter to take it over to the donate pile.
But when Stacey did, she admitted she was going to try and turn it into something special for the mum-of-three.
“I think it’s so incredible that Aimee has decided to let it go but a part of me feels like I don’t want it to just go off into the abyss,” Stacey said.
“So I’m going to sneak it off and see if I can find a way of turning it into something.”
Later in the programme, as Aimee and Stuart were shown their newly organised home, she spotted a cute teddy bear sitting on the chest of drawers in their bedroom.
As Aimee struggled to control her emotions, Stacey said: “I didn’t know if you would recognise it, but I know how much you love the chair and how much it meant to you so we took the fabric and decided to make a little teddy bear out of it so that you and Mollie still have a bit of it in your lives.”
Breaking down in tears, Aimee said: “Oh my gosh, thank you. That’s so cute.
“It was the right decision, definitely, but it hurt a lot. But that’s so much better.
“Thank you so much.”
