I hit the jackpot when dumpster-diving at Poundland – there was loads of frozen food and an unopened box of desserts
A KEEN bargain hunter has taken to TikTok to reveal what happened when he went dumpster diving at Poundland – and it seems there was plenty to choose from.
TikTokker @retail_waste_exposed shared his reaction when finding two bins full of fresh and frozen produce outside his local discount store.
The savvy money-saver regularly shares his dumpster-diving finds with his 32,900 TikTok followers.
But in his latest video, he claims to have hit the ‘jackpot’ after finding frozen ready meals, pies, fish and ice-cream in the bins outside Poundland.
During the 59-second video, he can be heard saying: “Oh woah! Oh my days!
“Oh my god, and they’re frozen still, are they? They are still frozen.
“I’ve hit the jackpot. Look at all of this food”
Inside the giant bins were two large boxes of Grom ice cream cartons, retailing for £7 each, as well as Dairy Milk ice creams, frozen chicken pies, and a range of Young’s frozen fish.
The content creator’s find attracted plenty of attention online, gaining more than 12,700 likes and 620,000 views.
In the comments, people shared their reactions to the huge amount of food going to waste.
One wrote: “Cost of living and there chucking stuff like this away. Shame on them.”
Another said: “Why don’t they give it to charity..?”
A third put: “This makes me so cross when people are struggling.”
Someone else put: “Good on it bro, take what you want and give to the homeless.”
Others suggested this doesn’t happen at all supermarkets and stores, with one Tesco worker adding: “I’m glad I work for Tesco, every night we send the waste we can to a different charity, 7 days a week.”
