Vera star flooded with support from fans as he issues grovelling apology after ‘missing’ episode
VERA fans have shown their support for a much-loved character after he apologised for ‘missing’ an episode.
After nearly a year of anticipation, the final two parts of Series 11 are finally available for fans to watch.
Riley Jones, who’s been part of the ITV show since series three, played the role of DC Mark Edwards.
The actor, who usually goes on Twitter to answer fans questions about Vera, missed the latest episode of the ITV drama, which aired on Sunday night.
He alerted Vera fans that he wouldn’t be available to respond to the episode this time.
He tweeted, alongside a snap of a snow-covered mountain: “Enjoy tonight’s Vera episode, everyone! I won’t be able to tweet along because I’ll be hurtling down the side of a mountain. And by hurtling, I mean sliding slowly and trying not to fall over!”
Fans expressed their concerns after learning why the actor was unable to participate in the Vera discussion on social media.
One wrote: “Stay safe and have fun.”
Another added: “Be safe out there!”
A third penned: “No broken bones. Enjoy!”
A fourth offered their support: “Hope you are ok! We are all supporting you, be safe.”
There’s one final episode left of the thrilling ITV series which will air on the channel at 8pm on Sunday the 19th February.
Riley didn’t catch the latest episode that saw DCI Stanhope solve another death of a police officer.
