I’m a Hooters girl – people are surprised by my appearance but it’s totally fine
A HOOTERS girl had a surprise for customers under her sleeves.
Marlynn (@marlynnxoxo), a Hooters server, countered the myth that Hooters employees couldn’t have tattoos.
In a video, she explained that the policy had been revised to allow ink as long as it was not visible on the face or neck.
“I actually just got off work and I had to do some stuff on the computer that was going over rules as far as our image,” she explained.
She pulled up a screenshot of the new guidelines.
“Tattoos are permitted but can not be offensive, pornographic, profane, racial/discriminatory, contain objective imagery, depictions of violence, defamatory in nature, on the face, or on the side/front of the neck,” the guideline stated.
“So if you go into a corporate store and they are telling you because you have a tattoo, you cannot be a Hooters girl, that is not correct,” she said.
In another video, she showed off her sleeves of tattoos that were allowed at work.
“I do work at a corporate Hooters and I am right now, probably the most heavily tattooed girl that works there,” she said.
“My whole stomach is tattooed as well and I do wear the crop tops, like I show all of my tattoos.
“For me, I hasn’t been an issue, once the policy changed, our store has allowed them as long as they’re not offensive, they’re not gang-related.”
She stressed that final decisions were up to the general managers of each location but for the most part, people should not be getting turned away from jobs at Hooters if their tatts followed their guidelines.
