I’m a dog expert and there are three medium-sized breeds I’d never recommend, one looks cute but is impossible to train
A DOG EXPERT has revealed the three medium-sized dog breeds he would never recommend.
The dog trainer, known as americanstandardk9 on TikTok regularly shares advice on what dog breeds to avoid as well as handy training techniques.
In one such video, the dog expert revealed the top three medium-sized dog breeds he wouldn’t own as a pet.
He said: “Three medium sized dog breeds we do not recommend as professional dog trainers.”
First up was the Chow Chow, a dog breed from China, known for their fluffy and adorable appearance.
The dog expert explained: “they are a little aloof, very stubborn, hard to train, they don’t like strangers, and they don’t like other dogs.”
The second dog breed the dog trainer wouldn’t recommend is the ‘notorious Husky.’
While they may be beautiful to look at, he revealed they are practically impossible to train and will often try to make a run for it.
“Beautiful animals. Again, hard to train, they are too smart for their own good,” he revealed.
“And if that front door gets open, they are runners.
“They’re gonna run all the way to the North Pole to visit Santa Claus before you ever find them.”
Lastly, the dog expert revealed he would never suggest owning a Belgian Malinois, as they just aren’t cut out for domesticated life.
The dog expert added: “I know you see them on TV training with police. in the military, but you are probably not police or military or using them to hunt terrorists.
“So unless you want to get a full time a new full time 40 hour job and cancel your Netflix subscription because you’re not going to have time to watch a movie, then don’t get yourself a Belgian Malinois.
“Too much dog for most of you.”
The video has since gone viral with over 265k views and over 15,000 likes.
People quickly took to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “As a Husky owner I agree they are definitely meant to roam free.”
Another person commented: “I have a Belgium. Very good boy. He gets his exercise, but he is very mellow when he is in the house he is an indoor dog my babies an angel.”
“My Chow was the best and only dog we ever had growing up. She was a beaut. Very well trained and loved some other dogs. But definitely no strangers,” penned a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “We walk our Husky off lead in residential area. When he gets to a park he goes for a run and if he does leave us he runs home.”
“I had a Husky and you are right he was a runner,” claimed a fifth.
