BBC Breakfast’s Jon Kay ‘in trouble’ as Sally Nugent ‘has a word’ with him and issues stern warning for misbehaving
BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent scolded Jon Kay for “misbehaving” on Monday’s show.
The presenter, 51 and her co-star Jon, 53, were on back on the morning programme as they discussed the art collector who accidentally shattered a porcelain Jeff Koons balloon dog sculpture, valued at £35,000, at an arts festival in Miami on Thursday.
Jon then recalled the time when he was younger and accidentally knocked down a display.
He told Sally that he went to a department store in Chester and ended up “racing around” a display with his little brother.
“My mum told me do not run around that display, but I did and I knocked over this whole display of 200 Easter eggs which were in mugs,” the newsreader said.
“So it wasn’t just Easter eggs but pottery everywhere!”
A stunned Sally gasped: “No!” as Jon joked: “In trouble!”
Sally then issued her college a stern warning and said: “No running around the sofa Jon Kay, just stay very still, do not move!.”
He hit back and said: “I’m going to have a word with him now while we go to the weather.”
It comes after fans spotted a hosting shake-up today as Carol Kirkwood was missing from the show again.
Carol, 60, usually appears on the morning show to give viewers their daily weather updates.
Instead, Matt Taylor took her place to present the numerous forecasts during the programme, with no explanation given as to why Carol wasn’t there.
Matt was welcomed onto the show by hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent as he informed viewers that there would be milder conditions.
Addressing Carol’s absence, Matt told the presenters: “This morning I think Carol has run off with a bit of sunshine in her bag.”
Many viewers noticed that their favourite weather reporter was absent.
One wrote: “Where is Carol? #BBCBreakfast”
Another posted: “I miss Carol this morning on BBC Breakfast, where has she gone?”
It comes after Carol went missing from the show on Friday without explanation.
