Cleaner shares genius hack to make the carpet on her stairs look posher – and it only takes seconds
A CLEANER has taken to social media to show people how you can make your stairs look posher in seconds.
People previously thought her hack had to be done with a hoover, but mum-of-two Stacey shared all you need is your hand to make your carpet look luxury.
She creates a triangular pattern on the stairs’ carpet by sliding her hand up and down the fabric in a diagonal pattern.
This creates the illusion of alternating triangles on the carpet.
The hack is thought to mimic the look of posh stretches of grass that are mowed to have a two-tone pattern.
Most fans of the design fiddle with a hoover to posh-up their stairs.
But Stacey – who goes by That Cleaner Stacey on Tik Tok – has proved it can be much easier.
She uses the palm of her hands to create triangles in the floor area of the stairs, and runs the hack of her hand along the vertical stretches to mimic the pattern there.
Stacey dubbed it the “life hack we all need to know”.
Fellow cleaning fanatics ran to the comments to weigh in on the hack.
One said: “I giggled!
“I know EXACTLY what’s going on here and I have done it too!”
A second weighed in: “I love when carpet is just vacuumed and you can see the lines.”
A third penned: “I thought it was just me.
“I vacuum however I want then make the lines after.”
Some people claimed they would never be able to do it because they hate the feel of the carpet on their hands.
Other suggestions were to use a microfiber cloth to create the pattern.
One mum even said she uses an old hairbrush to create a posh pattern in her carpet.
The style of carpet has previously sparked debate on social media.
One cleaner created the pattern on her client’s living room floor and people trolled her over it, claiming it looked “awful” and they wouldn’t be impressed if their cleaner did that.
