I’m a make-up artist and begging you to stop filling in your brows… all you need is a £5 product to make them perfect
A MAKE-UP artist has begged people to stop filling in their whole eyebrows and opt for HAIR GEL instead.
Self-styled brow expert Janae Lockard is well versed in common mistakes people make when doing their make-up.
The video was about “eyebrow mistakes you might be doing” and was notably extensive – because Janae believes beautiful brows are made before you’ve even started penciling them in.
Her first tip was to do your eyebrows as the first part of your make-up routine.
This means you won’t smudge any of the products into your foundation and can chisel your face around the brows to give your make-up a crisper finish.
The Washington, US-based beauty guru’s second tip was to not over pluck your unibrow.
She explained that “over plucking that area is not going to work” because it won’t allow you to fill in where your eyebrows actually are.
Moving into putting products on, she advised people to not: “Begin your brow too far down and fill in the entire eyebrow with too dark of a colour and too big of a brunch.
“It’s unnatural and too harsh.
“Instead, we want to use a brow gel.”
In an exciting twist, Janae revealed hair gel works even better than designated eyebrow gels.
Her favourite choice of hair gel is the Schwarzkopf got2b Glued Water Resistant Spiking Glue Hair Gel – which costs just £5 for a 150ml tube.
The MUA said: “There is nothing I love more than this one.
“Even if you have really stubborn brow hairs, it’s the best.”
She then gave viewers a tutorial on how to create flawless brows using a gel.
Janae narrated: “Pick up the product then brush the brow hairs upwards and outwards.
“Soften the edges if that’s too fluffy.
“Don’t keep going in again and again with that gel because you’re going to get those little flaky crusts that nobody wants.”
The final step was to use a brow pen and add “feathery strokes” to mimic strands of your brows.
The now-viral video on Tik Tok has totted up over 1.5 million views.
Beauty fans flocked to the comments to praise her tips, with one penning: “As someone who’s always been obsessed with brows, this was so satisfying to watch.”
