Nick Knowles’ appearance on Into The Grand Canyon leaves viewers seriously distracted
NICK KNOWLES look on Into The Grand Canyon left BBC viewers distracted.
The DIY SOS presenter had those at home watching all saying the same thing about his appearance in his new Channel 5 show.
During the episode, Nick, 60, was seen embarking on a difficult journey through the Grand Canyon in the new series.
In the episode the TV host is seen ziplining across it, exploring its caves, and helping to restore the canyon’s endangered condor population.
But viewers were distracted by his look on the show, with some demanding for him to change his brown and orange coloured stripe shirt, and shave off his “hobo beard”.
Some even joked and said that Nick was dressed “as the Grand Canyon”.
Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts, one wrote: “Nick Knowles is at the Grand Canyon, the hottest place on Earth, and can’t even be bothered to shave off his hobo beard?!”
Another added: “Change your shirt!”
A third penned: “Nick needs a new stylist!”
A fourth joked: “Fair play to Nick Knowles for choosing to dress as the Grand Canyon, while visiting the Grand Canyon, for his programme on the Grand Canyon. Dedication.”
The presenter, who ballooned to 18st in lockdown, got jammed in a crevice in caves beneath the spectacular US rock formation.
Nick, who has hosted BBC makeover show DIY SOS since 1999, was eventually freed with the help of a caver, who then mocked him.
Speaking on Radio X, he recalled: “The caver said to me, ‘So how are you feeling about your life choices?’.”
