People always want to know where I got my gold kitchen range from… they have no idea what’s really going on
A DIY queen has shared how she managed to transform her dull kitchen into a gold masterpiece.
Cara Newhart took to social media to show the before and after photos of her project in a bid to depict just how big of transformation a small change can make to a space.
TikTok user Cara transformed her kitchen into a gold masterpiece using a simple DIY trick[/caption] Cara got £47 heatless vinyl to stick onto her cooker hood to elevate the space[/caption]Panning the camera down from the ceiling, she wrote: “when people find out this gold range is actually just heat resistant vinyl stuck on like a sticker”. [sic]
As the camera moved down, viewers could see the ‘before’ photo of the cooker hood, which was made of stainless steel.
Cara then appeared on screen, wearing a grey top with light pink leggings as she held up a white package.
She then threw the package across to the back of the room, resulting in the cooker hood changing from a silver colour to gold.
In the caption, she added: “painting expensive stainless steel appliances,” with a red cross emoji.
“VS – changing the look with a vinyl sticker that peels off clean,” she continued with a green tick emoji.
The gold vinyl is a Scotch store brand that retails for £47 on Amazon in the UK and people have left raving reviews about it online.
“High quality vinyl,” one person branded the product as another person agreed: “high quality vinyl very easy to work with. Cuts smoothly and easy to weed”. [sic]
A third customer said: “The Vinyl is great! It has held up well outdoors and indoors as well. I have also used it on sports equipment and still intact. I would definitely buy again”. [sic]
Meanwhile, TikTok viewers were also left impressed with Cara’s work on her kitchen and couldn’t help but gush over how “amazing” it looked.
“This is fabulous, and what a great idea to have it removable!” one person wrote.
Another person warned her: “Will be out of style in 2years,” [sic] to which Cara replied: “Which is exactly why this isn’t permanent lol”.
And a third person shared an alternative way of creating the same effect as they said: “Yaaass!!! I used silver head resistant spray paint on mine!!! No one can tell”. [sic]
