I was dress-coded at work but it makes no sense – I think my outfit’s a slay but others say I take it too far
EVEN if there’s no set uniform most workplaces will still have some sort of dress-code, whether they enforce it or not.
But when one woman picked her outfit for work she was quickly dress-coded for the seemingly normal outfit.
Although it’s not clear where exactly the woman works, she showed off the outfit that got her in trouble on TikTok.
The long sleeve black top and matching trousers landed her in trouble, although not everyone is sure what the problem with her look could possibly be.
In the video, the woman shows off her outfit and spins around for the camera.
She captioned the clip: “Got dress coded at work #slayedtooclosetothesun.”
Since the top didn’t seem to be lowcut or show off her midriff and the trousers looked to be a basic style too, people began to theorise what the issue could be.
One commented: “I don’t know where she works but at my job we’re not allowed to wear any leggings because it’s athletic/loungewear.”
“I’m assuming the leggings were too revealing,” a second agreed.
But others were convinced there was nothing wrong with the outfit at all.
“Dress-coded for what?! You’re fully covered,” someone slammed.
“Dress-coding is another way of saying you look better than me a must change,” another joked.
Some thought the problem wasn’t her outfit but rather the fact she “has a body” at all.
“They expect women to leave their body at home,” someone quipped.
Another wrote: “This feels like that one friend that made you change because you looked better than that did.”
“They’re just jealous because there’s nothing wrong here,” one user added.
