I took my boyfriend’s dog to the groomer – but I had to hide from him when I got home and he saw the results
A MAN was left mortified when he took his boyfriend’s dog to be groomed, only for the pooch to come back looking totally different.
The social media user, called Brandon, said that he was so shocked by the results that he decided to hide as he waited for his other halves’ reaction.
Brandon, aka @unclebubbatx, uploaded a video to his profile titled ‘true story.’
He then added a string of hashtags, including ‘#dogfail’ and ‘#groomingfails’, which showed where the story was going.
The footage then captured Brandon standing behind a plant at their home, as he wrote: “Hiding from my boyfriend after taking his dog to get groomed.”
And to show his TikTok followers how dramatic the before and after transformation was, he shared a few snaps of the canine pre-grooming session.
The first showed the happy pooch looking fluffy and well groomed while on a walk out.
While other photos also showed how the dog had thicker, curly white and grey fur.
But the footage quickly switched to post-grooming – and the difference was jaw-dropping.
Not only was his fur cut to be so much shorter, almost down to his skin, but the same had happened on his ears, with many saying it was so dramatic that it looked like a different pet.
One social media user wrote: “OMG! It seems they gave you the wrong dog. I can’t stop laughing.”
A second said: “What did that poor baby ever do to you to deserve THAT?!!”
A third commented: “Omg yes I would not go home until the hair had grown back.”
While a fourth quipped: “Hiding? I’d be moving out!”
However, dog groomers were quick to have their say on the matter and said it was probably because the pooch’s fur had become matted.
One said: “What happens when you don’t brush your dog.
“I’m a dog-groomer. No brushy brushy, we shavey shavey.”
Another person said: “One of two things happened. There was a miscommunication about the length they wanted left on the dog, or the dog was matted.”
But Brandon wasn’t alone, as other people shared their experiences of dog grooming sessions gone wrong.
One person recalled: “Yup I asked for a haircut. I had a labradoodle dog, dropped him off and got a DAMN DEER back!
“He was a deer! Ma’am that is not my dog…”
Another added: “My mum once took our poodle to new groomers and it ended with my mum phoning saying, ‘I sent in a poodle and you’ve given me back a goat!’”
