Swansea explosion: Body of man found at scene after devastating ‘gas’ blast destroys homes & leaves three hospitalised
A BODY has been found in the search for a missing person after a house exploded this morning.
One property was completely destroyed and around 20 others damaged after a suspected gas blast tore through a street in Swansea, Wales.

But tragically a body of a man has now been recovered from the scene of the explosion, South Wales Police said tonight.
More than 100 people were evacuated as emergency services rushed to scene at around 11.20am.
People living close to the property reported windows shaking when the explosion rocked the junction.
One said: “It was an enormous bang – it shook the house and was heard miles away.”
Another neighbour added: “It is a hell of a mess. If anyone was in the house they wouldn’t stand a chance.”
A third resident told WalesOnline they saw roof tiles “go up in the air”.
They said: “[I] heard a bang, saw a gust of smoke and roof tiles from a house go up in the air.”
South Wales Police said earlier: “Emergency services are continuing to work at the scene of an explosion on Clydach Road in Morriston that occurred around 11.20am this morning.
“Three people have been taken to hospital by ambulance.
“Two properties have been extensively damaged and other neighbouring properties have also been damaged.
“This is an ongoing incident so more detail will be provided when we have a clearer picture.
“Our thoughts are with everyone who have been affected by this morning’s incident.”
It’s understood gas engineers are at the scene to investigate.
However, the cause hasn’t been confirmed as a gas explosion.
A spokesperson for Wales & West Utilities said: “We do not yet know the cause of the explosion and our engineers will continue to support the emergency services as they carry out their work.”
