I did my full weekly food shop in M&S – I couldn’t believe how cheap it is, it’s basically the new Aldi
A FOOD fan has revealed that she put M&S food to the test and went to the popular supermarket to get her weekly groceries.
The bargain hunter was eager to save some cash on her weekly shop and was left open-mouthed at her huge haul.
Not only was it cheaper than she expected, but she thought the quality of the food was impressive too.
Gi took to TikTok, where she posts under the username @whatgabdid, to share her thoughts on food shopping at M&S, compared to shopping in Aldi.
She said: “Who knew that we would live in a world where M&S is cheaper than Aldi?
“Well today I’m putting it to the test and I’m going to do my full food shop here and see how much it comes to.
“Starting off with the fruit and veg and I could not believe how affordable it was.
“25p per onion and can I just say that most of the fruit and veg was not in packaging, and if it was, it was recyclable.
“High quality chicken, bass, 100g of mince and two steaks.
“I did have a snoop of the ready meals and I did think there were some really good deals there.
“I went to get some ketchup the other day and it was almost £4 so seeing it for £1 was quite nice.
“Not to mention the milk – the same price as Aldi!
“I picked up some bathroom stuff and some wipes to see how they are.
“I could not get over how many different types of hot cross buns there were.
“At this point the trolley was getting very full but I could not believe that I got 31 items for £52.33.
“Could M&S seriously be the new Aldi?”
Gi showed off her epic haul of goodies – full of meat, fruit, vegetables, snacks and more.
At the time of writing, Gi shared her clip just 15 hours ago, but it has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed a whopping 757.4k views.
It has 44.5k likes, 465 comments and 2,353 shares.
Social media users eagerly flooded the comments, sharing their thoughts on M&S.
One person said: “People have been sleeping on M&S. Amazing quality at super affordable prices” to which Gi responded “I am amazed by the quality! Even if it ended up being more than Aldi, the fruit and veg is actually fresh and not soggy/mouldy!”
Another added: “Also the quality is incredible. Even if it’s a little bit more expensive, it’s worth it.”
A third commented: “Just did a shop at Tesco and can say 100% M&S are cheaper! And the food is way better quality! Back to M&S next week.”
Whilst someone else noted: “I love M&S for me and my family… any fruit or veg I buy in Aldi goes off quickly!”
