Four in a Bed star blasts ‘very harsh’ hygiene critiques – but viewers are divided
ONE Four in a Bed host was left furious as he dealt with some harsh criticism over the hygiene levels at his glamping site.
It was the third visit of the week on the Channel 4 contest and three sets of guests – Jana and Emily, Charlotte and Donna as well as Karlie – all headed to Rob’s Wolds Wine Estate.
Rob thought he had the winning trick to make his visit tick all the right boxes thanks to a highly unique addition – his precious vineyard.
Unusually, Rob told the group that the vineyard was his biggest focus and that it took priority over the glamping accommodation provided due to it being a tourist attraction.
He revealed to the group: “The vineyard must come first as that is what makes us a tourist attraction here, but the glamping pods obviously support that.”
Whilst at first the guests seemed to be enjoying their stay with Rob it did not take long for the cracks to begin to show and quickly things unravelled.
Despite enjoying the wine tasting and a scrumptious full English breakfast, the group felt many of the finer details were missing including things to help them keep clean.
Karlie said of her breakfast made from local produce: “I absolutely love having breakfast alfresco. The sun is out, the birds are singing and it is so nice,” but she was quick to concur that the essential items of B&B life were missing.
The guests were left crying out for soap to wash their hands with along with bathroom essentials such as shampoo’s and shower gel’s in order to have a more pleasant and refreshing stay.
It meant that when it came to feedback time, Rob was left seething at the comments about his ‘unhygienic’ property.
Having been rated a 5 for cleanliness on one of the feedback forms, Rob fumed as he declared it “very harsh”.
As part of justification, Rob brazenly claimed of the ‘missing’ items: “It is something people do pack themselves”.
The omission of the items left fans divided as one viewer slammed Rob for his attitude over the comments, saying: “He’s dismissive of some of the valid feedback #fourinabed.”
But someone else stuck up for him by adding: “#Fourinabed How many times do we have to say it… It’s not up to them to provide your shower gel and shampoo! Everyone uses different ones for a starter…” [sic].
Whilst one viewer claimed to always take their own, writing: “I always take my own #fourinabed.”
Four in a Bed airs weekdays at 5pm on Channel 4 and All4.
