Charlie Stayt replaced on BBC Breakfast as Naga Munchetty joined by unfamiliar face
CHARLIE Stayt was replaced on BBC Breakfast today as Naga Munchetty was joined by an unfamiliar face.
Charlie, 60, usually hosts the show Thursday to Saturday alongside Naga, 47.
While he was present on the BBC Breakfast sofa yesterday, today he was nowhere to be seen.
With Ben Thompson having already stepped in for Jon Kay earlier in the week, it meant an unfamiliar face was sat alongside Naga today.
Journalist Roger Johnson is best known for presenting regional BBC programme North West Tonight, although he has presented BBC Breakfast on weekends since 2012.
However, today was one of the rare times he has presented on a weekday.
Earlier this week, Ben, 41, stood in for Jon, 53, on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s programmes alongside Sally Nugent.
Meanwhile, viewers were distracted from the news by Naga’s outfit.
The journalist wore a lovely denim shirt dress and heels for Fridays show, and one fan wrote: “Nice to see you made it to work today xx looking very casual. what have you done with Charlie!!!! Have a good weekend.”
Another added: “Wife and I agree that @TVNaga01 is rocking the one piece denim and high heels look this morning.”
A third tweeted: “Love that dress you’re wearing today. Looking lovely as ever.”
A fellow viewer shared: “Waking up to @TVNaga01 & @RogerJ_01
two of your favs you just know Friday is going to be good.”
BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
