I was my school’s hottest teacher – ‘hot privilege’ was a nightmare, I was just trying to do my job
A TEACHER has told how ‘hot privilege’ meant that she was treated differently to her colleagues – and it wasn’t always to her advantage.
Courtney Tillia claims to know for a fact that her attractiveness was the main reason she wasn’t taken seriously in some quarters.
The 36-year-old, from Arizona in the US, taught special needs students and quit her career to take up fitness modelling in 2016.
Now an OnlyFans star, she’s made more money in four years on the platform than she would have in 25 years as a high school teacher.
She says: “Hot privilege is a real thing. I benefit from it in many areas of life where I’m given preferential treatment or exceptions because of how I look.
“But, in some environments and settings, it can work against you.
“I was definitely subject to greater scrutiny as a teacher because of how I looked and how young I was.
“A lot of teachers can fly under the radar and just go about their job daily.
“Attracting attention is absolutely something I benefit from and embrace today, but would’ve liked less of it when I was teaching.”
Courtney adds: “Women systemically are given less credibility for their qualifications and how good they are at their job.
“Being young and hot adds another potential factor for steering the focus away from your job performance and credibility.
“How beautiful and young I looked was the first thing mentioned in a lot of meetings and events with district personnel and families.
“Here I am ready to discuss my students’ progress and the work they’re doing and a meeting starts with, ‘I just can’t believe you’re a teacher’”
The model previously told how she was dress-coded by education bosses because of her curvy figure.
She was often reprimanded by HR despite wearing the same outfits as other colleagues who were never hauled in.
Courtney said: “They would report me for dress code violations.
“I was a very young, attractive, and fun teacher.
“Even though I would try my best to avoid any revealing attire, it wasn’t easy to hide my curves.
“I would often get called into HR to address my attire, even though I wore the same clothes as other teachers for who they didn’t have an issue with.”
