Toddler died aged 17 months after getting her head stuck between bars on mum’s bed in devastating accident
A TODDLER died after getting her head stuck between bars on her mum’s bed.
Jessica Farrer was just 17 months old when the devastating accident unfolded.
The tot was lazing around watching TV on her mum’s bed with brother Daniel when the horror happened.
Her mum Clair Robertson, 41, was there, too.
Daniel was at the foot of the bed on his tablet, while mum sat propped up on pillows at the head, with Jessica watching her favourite Miss Rachel program on the TV just inches away from her brother.
Just moment later Jessica’s mum realised she couldn’t see her baby.
Clair leapt off the bed and found her tot at the foot of the bed, with her head caught in the metal frame and her feet unable to reach the floor.
The raced to call emergency services as Jessica wasn’t moving.
Clair told The Mirror: “I opened the front door and screamed for help, I was very aware it was only me and the children in the house.
“I started CPR, I had saved two people in the past including my mum with CPR when I was younger, so I just tried to stay calm and started compressions.”
Jessica was rushed to hospital, where she later died.
However, the tot managed to save three people’s lives as her organs were donated.
A GoFundMe has been set up for the family.
