Paul O’Grady’s multi-million pound fortune revealed after heartbroken husband shares last photo
TV and radio star Paul O’Grady had racked up a fortune of £8.6million.
The sum is likely to be passed on in a will — with his husband of six years Andre Portasio expected to be the main benefactor.
National treasure Paul died this week at the age of 67.
Yesterday, Andre, 41, posted a photo of him and Paul on Instagram — the couple smiling on a boat during a trip abroad.
Andre wrote: “Browsing for a picture I found the last picture we ever took together. Unbeknownst to us back in January this would be our last ever holiday together.”
Records filed by Paul show that in the 12 months up until May last year he raked in more than £1.8million.
Most of his money was in investments, but he had almost £1.3million sitting in the bank.
Details of his personal fortune are contained in records filed for his company, Buster Productions — named after his beloved dog Buster, who died in 2009.
A TV insider said: “The huge fortune he’d accrued was a reflection of how popular and successful he was.
“The fact he was earning more money than ever at a time in life when many people would be winding down shows what a grafter he remained.”
Animal-lover Paul died in bed at his Kent home on Tuesday night.
He had completed another series of For the Love of Dogs at Battersea Cats and Dogs Home — a charity also expected to receive a donation in his will.
Tonight at 7pm, BBC1 will air a classic episode of Blankety Blank hosted by Paul as his drag alter ego Lily Savage, in tribute to the star.
