My husband said my outfit looks like a ‘potato sack’ but I don’t care, women think I look ‘cute’
SINCE the dawn of time, wives have chosen cute little outfits and husbands have responded with confusion.
One woman was surprised by her man’s mean comment about her ensemble, but nevertheless, she persisted.
Arizona-based blogger Melissa Gitt (@alwaysmeliss) recounted the interaction on her social media.
In a TikTok “fit check” video, she showed off the outfit her husband hated and asked for a second opinion.
Gitt wore a sleek, sleeveless jumpsuit with a strappy back and flirty side cutouts.
The flared legs allowed Gitt to showcase her stylish heeled sandals. She paired a neutral pair of shoes with the all-black jumpsuit.
But despite Gitt’s intentional styling, her husband was not a fan.
“My husband says jumpsuits look like potato sacks,” she lamented in the caption.
Gitt didn’t let it bother her one bit, though. A voiceover clip narrated exactly how she felt about the difference in opinion.
“I started acting like I didn’t care,” the clip said. “But then I realized that I wasn’t pretending, and I actually didn’t care.”
In the video’s description, she sought the only opinions that mattered, which were those of her female followers.
“Jumpsuits: Yes or no?” the style influencer polled.
The vote was strongly in Gitt’s favor.
“Uh, yes! You look so cute!” one woman marveled.
Another gave her approval with a vital caveat.
“Yes, if you have a friend who will help you undress,” the thoughtful commenter said.
Gitt wasn’t alone in lacking spousal appreciation for her sartorial choices.
One woman wrote, “My husband calls them PJs,” adding a laughing emoji to show her good sense of humor about the conflict.
And one clever fan had a theory as to why Gitt’s husband did not approve.
“He’s just jealous he can’t wear one,” the commenter insisted.
