We worked in Quiz and now run a £500k empire – trolls say we’re ‘two little girls playing business’
TWO best friends who used to work in Quiz are now running their very own business empire.
Amy Moore and Kirsten Cameron are founders of Aquarius Creative in Glasgow which specialises in managing influencers.
The pair started from nothing when they launched their business after quitting their jobs at fashion brand Quiz and revealed they didn’t even pay themselves for a while.
But their hard work and determination paid off as their company turned over £500,000 in the last year.
And the pals have had to develop a thick skin while building up their empire, with many people seeing them as “two little girls playing business.”
Speaking on BBC series The Agency: Unfiltered, Amy revealed: “We literally started from nothing, we didn’t have an office. It was me, Kirsten, her living room and two laptops, that was us.
“The pressure on us at the start was really really stressful, there was no money coming in and for so long we didn’t pay ourselves.”
Kirsten added: “But this year out turnover was half a million.
“I think people definitely see us as two little girls that are just playing at business, but we’ve got quite tough skin now.”
The girls met whilst both working at Quiz in the marketing department.
And decided to start their own business managing Scotland’s top influencers.
Amy added: “Kirsten and I have known each other for seven years.
“We were working in the marketing department for a fashion brand in Scotland.
“Kirsten looked after the celebrity side of things, whilst I did the social media and influencer side of things.
“We didn’t have anyone above us telling us what to do, so at that point we knew if we could this for a massive company then we could do this for ourselves.”
Cameras followed business bosses Amy and Kirsten on the day-to-day running of their marketing agency.
The marketing gurus have 20 of Scotland’s biggest influencers on their books – including Abbie Blyth and Molly McFarlane.
The six-episode series follows the trials, glitz and glam of the influencers’ lives – as well as their bosses.
Amy said: “I think for everyone watching at home, there’s so many personal things that happen in the first series.
“If a season two was to happen everything would flow very nicely.”
