Coronation Street legend’s mum lands a role in serial killer storyline
CORONATION Street legend Antony Cotton’s mum has landed a role in the serial killer storyline on the ITV soap.
Actress Enid Dunn, 79, will appeared in a guest stint on the hit show later this month.
Enid will take on the role of a housekeeper who ends up being involved in Rufus Donahue’s death.
Businessman Rufus (Steven Meo) is found dead in a swimming pool by Enid’s character in an upcoming episode next week.
It was recently revealed that he is another victim of serial killer Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) evil ways.
Her alter-ego is very shocked when she finds Rufus’ dead body and has to tell Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) the news.
ITV have been approached for comment.
Enid has appeared in a number of TV shows since the late 90s, but las landed roles in Corrie more than once.
One year before her son Antony joined the Cobbles as Sean Tully, she played Joan Lawson in 2002.
She appeared as Dennis Stringer’s aunt who attended his funeral.
Her next two roles were small, with one four years later under the character name of Old Crone, and a woman who appeared in serial killer John Stape’s storyline in 2011.
Then in 2014 she appeared in two episodes as a pensioner called Maureen Rothwell, who won a large amount of money during a Bingo night.
Enid has plenty of other programmes to add to her impressive list.
