Waitrose go to war with M&S as they launch rival sweet to Percy Pigs
IT’S no yolk — Waitrose has had a pop at popular M&S porker Percy Pig.
The posh chain’s Sunny Side Sam white chocolate egg calls out Percy in a series of tongue-in-cheek Easter ads.

Waitrose claims: “Easter eggs are a ‘thing’. Easters pigs . . . ?”
In one advert Sam reckons: “Oi! Percy . . . head back to your sty. This cute egg will take Easter from here.”
Another reads: “Oi! Percy . . . give up now. You can’t compete with my cute permanent smile.” Both end with: “You. Me. This Easter.”
The Easter eggro, err aggro, sparked hilarity among shoppers online.
One insisted: “Really made me chuckle.”
Another said: “Cannot believe Waitrose is throwing shade at Percy.”
A Waitrose spokesman said: “Step aside Percy — our adorable Sunny Side Sam is having his moment.
“We think he’s sure to knock the trotters off Percy this Easter.”
M&S, which sells Percy Pig Easter sweets, said: “Percy’s crew has his back and he is popular all year round.”
