Who is Louise Mitchell in EastEnders?
The BBC One soap revisited a bitter love triangle during Monday’s (July 10, 2023) trip to Walford as Lisa Fowler came back with a vengeance – and Keanu Taylor’s daughter Peggy.
Actress Lucy Benjamin reprised her role with fans shocked to see her again after more than three years of absence.
Upon her return, Lisa was ready to confront Keanu Taylor (portrayed by Danny Walters) as she made it clear she was ready to make him literally pay for cheating on Louise with Sharon Watts.
Regular viewers of the London-based program know that Louise Mitchell is the daughter of Lisa Fowler and Walford tough man Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
She is the sister of Ben Mitchell, Raymond and the adoptive sister of Dennis Rickman Jr, who was raised by Phil during his marriage with Sharon.
Multiple actresses portrayed Louise from Rachel Cox (2001-2003) through Danni Bennatar (2008) to Brittany Papple (2010) but Tilly Keeper was the latest to have portrayed her until her exit (2016-2020).
Louise has been living in Portugal since her swift departure from the Square with her daughter Peggy and mother Lisa.

What happened to Louise Mitchell in EastEnders?
Louise had a rocky childhood due to Lisa’s volatile relationship with her father Phil and was thrown into many dramatic storylines.
However, things took a turn for the fan favourite when she developed a crush on Keanu Taylor.
At the time, her feelings weren’t reciprocated, particularly as Keanu was having an affair with Sharon Watts while he was employed by Phil in The Arches.
Louise tried to find comfort by embarking on a relationship with his brother Keegan Baker but the romance never led to anything serious.
Eventually, fate brought Louise and Keanu closer – Phil needed the hunk to take care of his daughter as he was scared that one of his Spanish rivals could try and hurt her.
This turned out to be wise as Louise was kidnapped by one of them called Midge, prompting Keanu to save her.
Keanu soon harboured genuine feelings for Louise and the pair enjoyed their relationship for a short while before she found out she was pregnant.
After much turmoil and a short-lived decision to get an abortion, Louise gave birth to her daughter Peggy Taylor.
But soon, suspicions arise about Sharon’s own baby daddy as she was pregnant around the same time as Louise.
Louise finds out from her brother Ben that Sharon may have had an affair and she asked Keanu if he is the father of her baby – which he confirmed.
She lashed out until he suggested they ran away, leading her to agree to the offer.
Little did Keanu know at the time Louise was planning to turn her back on him.
Louise set him up, letting Martin Fowler murder him on Ben and Phil’s behalf.
This caught up with her as she began to feel guilt over Keanu’s murder, losing sleep and becoming very tired.
After trying to smother her daughter with a pillow, Louise confessed to her mother she was part of the reason Keanu was murdered.
Fear led members of the Mitchell clan to flee Walford with Louise, Lisa and Phil leaving the Square with baby Peggy as they realised they could all be arrested for Keanu’s supposed death.
Louise was last seen in a taxi leaving Albert Square in January, 2020.
Phil soon found out that Keanu’s death had been faked and returned to Walford but Louise decided to stay behind in Portugal.
Could she make a return?
