I bought a converted house boat in a millionaire’s neighborhood for a fraction of the cost – the view is insane
A WOMAN has revealed the impressive details inside her new waterside home.
She also shared why she got a modest deal in a notoriously expensive neighborhood.
In a recent video, TikToker Lindsay Perrotti (@lindsayperrotti) said that she purchased it with her fiancé.
“This is my houseboat that I recently purchased in Long Beach Island, New Jersey,” she explained.
Long Beach Island, New Jersey, is a barrier island near the Jersey coast known for its pricey summer homes and beautiful oceanfront views.
Perrotti lead a tour of their new digs, starting with a living room that connected to a kitchen with counter space and cabinets.
She continued: “On your right side, you’re going to see the bathroom. It has a full-size shower, and it’s really easy to get ready in.”
Above the kitchen sat a loft with a queen-size mattress for guests and “an overview of the space.”
Back downstairs, Perrotti revealed their master bedroom, which also appeared to hold a queen-size mattress and lots of decor.
She said the best part of the houseboat was its picturesque view of the ocean, and custom outdoor seating for plenty of people to enjoy.
“I can’t believe that this is our view. It’s epic.”
In another video, she divulged more details about the purchase, including how it got on their radar.
She said: “If you’re familiar with LBI, you know that everything on this island is $1 million plus.
“We actually purchased it because a friend sent us a video, said that we would love it, and the rest is history.
“Our houseboat was built custom in 2021. We were able to negotiate all of the furniture and decor with the price of $100-$200K.”
Perrotti said that although most of the house items were purchased by the previous owner, they started to make it more their own.
“Mostly everything you’re seeing is from Wayfair and Kohl’s. We’re going to Home Goods and little antique shops,” she said.
“We’re buying things to change it up and make it custom for us.”
Perrotti was an open book to commenters who had more questions about their new home.
For example, one person was curious about how they handle water waste removal.
“Sink and shower water run into the ocean and there is a septic tank that gets emptied every two weeks to a month,” she answered.
Perrotti also replied to people who wanted to know why she didn’t reveal the exact price of the houseboat instead of giving a range.
“We don’t feel comfortable putting our exact cost up online! Keep in mind there are a ton of factors that add onto the cost,” she said.
Still, she agreed with one commenter who said the best part of the overall cost: “no property or school taxes.”
