I build my own privacy fence for free to stop people peering in from the park… DIY fans can’t believe the glow up
A DIY whizz has revealed how he gave his garden a new look without spending a single penny – and it’s all thanks to wooden pallets.
Craft enthusiast by the name Caleb took to TikTok to share the property transformation that cost him nothing.
According to the DIY fanatic, believed to be from the US, his old fence offered him – and his dogs – no privacy.
But rather than forking out a fortune to resolve this issue, Caleb, a proud owner to a Husky and a Labrador Retriever, decided to find a cheaper alternative.
Using wooden pallets that were just over 7ft in height, Caleb created a budget-friendly fence which he then painted black.
For any gaps, he said in the clip, the pet lover simply added more of the wooden material that he had got for free.
To secure the pallets, Caleb used cable ties after the old fence blew down during a storm.
The DIY fence, shared on his page, has since racked up more than 30k views, with more than a hundred ‘saving’ the video.
A fellow dog owner said: ”thank you I can’t afford this baby fence but this is perfect to hold my husky inside.”
Someone else was so impressed with the glow-up, they tagged their pal and said: ”omg u need this in your back garden.”
But whilst Caleb’s makeover impressed many, this certainly wasn’t the case for one couple who made a feature wall with B&M buys.
Pleased with the results, the crafty duo, Colleen and Lewis, took to TikTok, where they showed £50 project.

Before the makeover, the home was complete with a black wooden fence – but to make it more fun, Colleen and Lewis decided to turn into a feature wall.
For this, they headed to B&M where they nabbed fake greenery and flowers to chuck on the dull fence.
The fake green plants, they revealed in the comments, were £25 for a pack of four – and they used up just seven.
After setting up the fence and scattering around a few flowers, the couple completed the glow-up with a string of outdoor lights.
But whilst the duo may have been all pleased with the results, people on social media were not the biggest fans of the new fence.
Dozens flocked to comments of the video, with one insisting they might grow to regret the affordable buy.
”Just so you know in Summer they’ll fade to yellow because of sun exposure colour will fade in about a month.”
Another agreed, writing: ”These will fade really quickly as they aren’t uv resistant if you want something that will last.”
Someone else, meanwhile, reckoned that real plants would’ve made for a better look.
”That’s plastic not greenery.”
A fourth wondered: ”why not use real ones.”
Luckily, it wasn’t all negative, as others were rather fond of the DIY feature wall.
”No I actually love this,” a fan said.
”looks so real wow,” someone else couldn’t believe the results.
