Old House New Home viewers slam George Clarke for ‘f***ing up’ couples house
OLD House New Home viewers have slammed George Clarke for ‘f***ing up’ one couples house.
The Channel 4 renovation show follows the architect and TV presenter as he attempts to make old houses suitable for a modern life.
George, 49, met Managing Director David and stay-at-home mum Claudine.
The pair were looking to completely transform their Edwardian house in the Manchester suburb of Didsbury into a liveable home.
However, despite the stunning makeover viewers were far from impressed with the personality’s makeover as they took to social media in their droves.
Fans complained at length online that the “arts and crafts” inspired house was modernised too much.
One said: “Why buy a beautiful arts and crafts house and turn it into a Manhattan loft style residence? What a travesty. Leave it for someone looking for an arts and crafts home.”
A second fumed: “How to ruin an Arts and Crafts house in Didsbury: invite @MrGeorgeClarke round and let him knock interior walls down and rip beautiful windows out for @Chanel4 #OldHouseNewHome.
They added: “Very sad. Why did the couple buy the house if they didn’t like those things .”
“It was a beautiful Arts & Crafts house but the owners totally spoiled it with their Manhattan warehouse look, such a travesty,” penned a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth viewer added: “#oldhousenewhome is like a time capsule of f****** up beautiful houses.”
