I was a Love Island winner and walked away with £25k prize – now I’ve got a ‘normal’ side hustle
LOVE Island winner Liam Reardon has revealed his surprise career path after blowing his £25k prize money in just two years.
The Welsh hunk – who won the 2021 summer series alongside Millie Court – revealed his brand new events planning venture.
Liam, 23, said he has been supported by good pal Kem Cetinay, who inspired him to take the jump and set up his own business.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Liam said: “I am starting off with my first event and hopefully it goes well.
“I’m friendly with Kem Cetinay and he’s gone through the industry and he has opened up his own restaurant and that kind of inspired me.
“It’s something I’ve wanted to do and I feel like now is the right time – I want to give it all and see where it can take me. It could go amazing, but nothing is promised.”
He continued: “Kem and I are friendly – we see each other when we can.
“We’re with the same management and I watched him on Love Island years ago.
“He’s done tremendously well and there is a lot of things he has achieved. He’s smashed it, and it’s people like him I’m trying to aim towards.”
Liam also told The Sun that he has finally rekindled his romance with Millie Court but confirmed that they are not “official” just yet.
He said: “We are taking things slow and going at our own pace, and it’s something that we want to do and it’s going really well.
“I live on my own, and she lives on her own with Chloe, and we see each other throughout the week, and there’s not too much pressure on it, and we’re really enjoying things and it’s going well.
“She’s a beautiful girl.”
When asked if he and Mille were officially a couple again, Liam said that they are yet to have that conversation.
He said: “Not really, like I said we’ve spoke and we’re taking things at our own pace, but we’re friends and we’re in contact and that’s kind of where we’re at right now.
“There’s nothing too major to mention
“We’ve potentially seeing each other since May.”
Liam said he and Millie have decided to keep things private this time round following the pressure of having a relationship in the spotlight.
He explained: “A relationship is between two people, not thousands of people and that’s all that matters really.
“Of course [people are invested], but you’ve got to remember that although we went on a TV show, we are still two, normal human beings, and we’ll have a normal relationship, normal arguments – the same as everybody else, that’s just want it comes down to at the end of the day.”
Back in May, Liam revealed that he had splashed his cash on “living the high life” after the villa, squandering his winnings on takeaways, partying and taxis after the show.
Joining Chloe Burrows on her podcast Chloe vs The World, she asked: “You won £25k – what did you spend it on?”
Liam replied: “I could not tell you, do you know when you come off and you’re trying to live the high life.
“It was spent on Deliveroo, taxi, McDonald’s – I can’t really say where it went too much.
“When I came off, I did an interview and they said what’s the money going towards and I said my property business.
“Two years down the line and I still haven’t set up no property.”
Elsewhere Liam and Millie announced their break-up last July, but they have since been pictured together on holiday and various events after rekindling their romance.
Liam is hosting his first ever music event A Day of Ibiza Classics at Bambu in Swansea on the 15th of July with Panda Events in support of Velindre charity.
